Who We Are
Two Canadian professionals, born and raised in Montreal, we retired from the rat race in the spring of 2016. We have been splitting our time between Montreal and Mont-Tremblant. Now on to The Next Phase of our wonderful life, we are setting a course towards Europe.

Think Outside The Box
I hold a degree in International Relations from Concordia University (1995) and am fluent in four languages (French, English, Spanish and Italian). I studied and worked internationally and lived a year in each of Ecuador and Colombia via the American Field Service program. I also lived in Italy and have otherwise traveled extensively, especially throughout Latin America.
Through living abroad so extensively and having worked with startups most of my career, I have been blessed with the ability to adapt to new environments and cultures and I possess unique “think-out-of-the-box” skills which are highly relevant when traveling abroad, especially for extended periods of time.
My hobbies include photography, cooking, reading, exercising and a bit of blogging, mostly about food and restaurants.
I am excited to move on to The Next Phase of my life with Guy - En Route to Europe!
EN ROUTEVERS L'EUROPE
journal de bord
In November 2017, we decided to move from Montreal to Europe to live The Next Phase of Our Life together. This is the story of our journey to one of the most enviable bases to live in and visit Europe from: Portugal.

Go Bag Ready
I was originally schooled as an attorney. I am a graduate from the University of Montreal and was a member of the Quebec Bar for 33 years before stepping down in 2016. I originally practiced law for a few years in one of Canada’s premier law firms. I am perfectly bi-cultural (French-English).
The 30+ year executive business career that followed focused mostly on technology, media and telecommunications, and then also strategy and financial advisory work (mostly through my own firm: The Cabinet since 2005). Prior to 2001, I was Senior VP, Corporate Affairs of Groupe Vidéotron and a member of the President's Office. I also then lived and worked in California’s Silicon Valley in the mid to late late 1990s and acted as Chairman & CEO of Groupe Vidéotron's Videotron USA. I subsequently joined Canada's Business Development Bank (BDC) in 2001 and served for 4 years as its Senior VP, Corporate Affairs & Chief Planning Officer.
I received my private pilot’s licence in 1997 and flew most of my pilot-in-command hours in the San Francisco Bay Area. While my pilot’s licence is no longer kept current, aviation, technology, writing and photography remain of keen interest to me. Computers and gadgets hold no secret for me; I am definitely what you call an “early adopter”. That is also a handy when traveling abroad for long periods of time.
My hobbies include skiing, tennis, cycling, hiking, photography, reading, writing and cooking. I became a member of the Ski Patrol Team at Mont-Tremblant in 2016. My first novel “The Avenger” should be published...eventually!
I am excited to move on to The Next Phase of my life with Marie-Michèle - En Route to Europe!
